Once upon a time, Lance and I were vacationing at the great Oregon coast. I like to relax with yarn and knitting needles or a crochet hook. So, Lance took me to a local yarn shop and let me pick out some yarn for our little vacation. I was very naive at the time. I didn't know there was a difference between a hank of yarn and a skein of yarn. Anyway I got two beautiful hanks of variegated green and purple merino wool, which I made into what I still consider my favorite scarf. When I got back to our room, I had to figure out how to convert my hanks of yarn into usable balls of yarn. From that day on, I have wanted a yarn swift and a ball winder. I have been saving my allowance and my birthday money.
Finally, I got my yarn swift
and a ball winder.

Miriam you are funny. I don't know anyone else that could get so excited about a yard winder thingy. I miss you guys so much right now. Wish we could have a really long visit, not just one of those couple hour sit in the front room eat dinner and say good-by visits. Come visit soon. Just as long as no one is sick, I'm terrified of germs right now. Of course everyone in the house is sick right now except for Avarie, some how we have been able to keep the virus from her. I think Heavenly Father is looking after her right now, because Avarie is always the first one to get sick if someone is going to get sick. So for everyone in the house to have gotten it and not her, it is truly a miracle. I am very grateful for that miracle it gave me a wonderful week home with a happy, energetic little girl. Hope to see you soon.
